Project Introduction

FetLor’s Club House is a wooden hut, built in the early 1960s. It has served us well for over 40 years. However, it can’t last much longer and it is our objective to replace it over the next couple of years.

The club and its activities are located on an important site. There is a strong territorial attitude amongst young people in the area. Our site, whilst adjacent to many of these territories, is on neutral ground. This makes us uniquely positioned to appeal to the broadest subset of young people as well as deal with the cross-territorial issues. So, we want to rebuild on the current site - rather than capitalise on the funds we could get from property developers keen to buy the land.

To achieve this rebuild goal we need help. Lots of it. As a volunteer organisation we lack the skills, knowledge and resource. Although we have the plans drawn up, we need to find the funding. The rebuild is budgeted to cost £1.5million. For a charity where every donation or funding goes toward providing facilities for our members, this fund raising is a significant challenge.
